Geneva Ida (Piearcy) Hurlburt passed away on November 10, 2022 at the age of 85. She was born April 11, 1937 in Canadian County, Oklahoma to William Thomas (Pete) & Donie (Golden) Piearcy. She grew up in Hinton, Oklahoma. On October 26, 1950 she married Paul Cameron Hurlburt and together they have three children Michael Bruce Hurlburt and Debora (Scott) Castle of Sheldon, MO and Barbara (Steve) Wickware of Pelsor, AR. Geneva moved to Irwin, Missouri from Brighton, Colorado in August 1969 and loved learning about all the different plants, trees, birds, insects and snakes. She became a walking encyclopedia. She was an excellent cook and gardener. She could sew, knit, and crochet. She loved telling stories about growing up picking cotton and hoeing peanuts. She is survived by her husband of 72 years and all three of their children. She is also survived by two siblings Rose (Scott) Casey of Lookeba, Oklahoma and James Piearcy of Hinton, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren Jennifer (John) Whittaker, John Rawlings, Jason (Tonya) Rawlings, Erik Hurlburt, Jeff Hurlburt, Lauren Hurlburt, Casey Castle and Erin (Lance Stoltzfus) Rivero, and six great-grandchildren Jordan & James Whittaker, Cameron Rawlings, Logan Rawlings, Drake Hurlburt and Kyrra Hurlburt along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her sister Lillian Lee, and 4 brothers Carl, Willie, William and Robert Piearcy. No services are planned at this time.
