Ronald Loyd Rives, 89, passed away on Saturday January 14, 2023, at the home of his daughter. He was born near Iantha, MO on February 23, 1933, to Charles Nelson and Alice Adell (Costelow) Rives. On November 20, 1951, he married Ruby Lorene Voorhees in Huntsville, AR. They settled east of Jasper, MO and raised a family. Ronald owned and operated several businesses before going to work at the Jasper Popcorn Plant. He retired from there and spent his time tending to his cattle and gardening. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, his parents, son Lonnie Ray Rives, brother James Rives and sister Bea Mayes.
He is survived by sons Chub (Terry) Rives of Jasper, MO and Don (Dora) Rives of Jasper, MO; and daughter Bonnie (Gailand) Johnston of Lamar, MO. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sister Jean Foster; sisters-in-law Francis McDaniel and Ima Jean Pierson; and brother-in-law Ivan Voorhees.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Mitchell Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
The family will receive visitors from 10 AM to 11 AM and a funeral service will follow at 11 AM on Tuesday January 17, 2023 at Konantz Warden Funeral Home.
