Marlene Jean Davis passed away on Wednesday August 30, 2023. She was born on February 12, 1934, in Harrisonville, MO and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1952. On December 14, 1952, she married Billy “Jack” Davis. They were married for 53 years. Marlene enjoyed crocheting, knitting and always had a project going. She never missed her grandchildren's school activities and in later years, she enjoyed listening to Lamar Tiger games on her radio. She is survived by her children, Mike Davis and wife Elaine, Dan Davis and wife Linda, and Susan Mabe and husband Scott, all of Lamar; and grandchildren, Patrick Davis and wife Laura of Bolivar, Rebecca Davis of Joplin, Christy Mears and husband Carey of Shawnee, KS, JD Davis and wife Jackie of Omaha, NE and Bret Mabe of Joplin. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Olivia Mears, Addison Mears, Reese Mears, Jack Davis, Owen Davis, Harrison Davis and Chuck Tyler; and her sister Linda Bristow of Paducah, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Davis on June 25, 2006 and her parents.
